Our Services
At Preschool Pediatrics, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive primary care to children 10 years and under. Our shared practice model ensures your child benefits from the expertise of two pediatricians, Drs. Bodnarchuk and Bynkoski, meaning your child will have two pediatricians caring for them. You may see either pediatrician at your child’s visit.
We have a strong belief in preventative care and are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate service at every appointment.
Primary Pediatric Care
We aim to address your child's specific needs through both in-person and virtual/phone appointments. Our comprehensive care includes:
Routine Well-Child Checkups: Offered at regular intervals including 1 week, 2 weeks, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months, 2 years, and then yearly thereafter.
Full History & Physical Exam: Physicians provide a full history and physical exam at each visit. Assessments vary by age and may include:
Newborn to 6 months: Head circumference, weight, naked weight , and assessment of head, eyes, mouth, chest, tummy, skin, and diaper area.
9 to 18 months: Head circumference, weight, and weight in diaper.
2 to 3 years: Standing height and clothed weight.
4 years and older: Blood pressure, standing height, and clothed weight.
All ages: Review of growth.
Recommended Vaccinations: We discuss recommended vaccinations at each visit and encourage your child to be up-to-date with them. Our nurses review and administer recommended vaccinations after obtaining consent.
Health Promotion & Prevention Teaching: Nurses provide necessary teaching on a wide variety of primary health promotion and prevention topics.
Documentation & Lab/Test Ordering: Physicians handle documentation in the medical record and ordering labs/tests as needed. Parents will be notified of all test results over the phone. If results are abnormal or require further management, a follow-up appointment may be required.
Specialist Referrals: We arrange referrals letters to sub-specialists as needed.
Urgent Medical Assessments
As a primary care clinic, we aim to offer urgent medical assessments as needed to our patient population. Please note, we do not have the resources to provide Urgent or Emergent medical care. Concerns such as major trauma, severe head injury, severe bleeding, or change in mental status are better suited for Children's Emergency. Minor injuries like cuts that may require stitches, minor head injury, or minor burns may be suitable for Urgent Care Centres.
Services Not Covered by Manitoba Health
Certain medical services are billed directly to the caregiver:
