Manitoba Health Insured Services

(MHSC/PHIN)

Physicians in Manitoba are not employed by Manitoba Health and incur significant costs (rent, utilities, salaried staff, supplies, cleaning services, and information technology systems) in order to provide care to patients. To keep the clinic open and provide care to patients, physicians must bill for services rendered. MOST patients will be covered by Manitoba Health, and physicians will submit billings directly to the province for payment.

Caregivers are responsible for accurate and up-to-date MB Health card information. For every visit, come with your child’s health card. Notify our staff and MB Health immediately in case of any change to your address, email, or telephone numbers.

Patients that DO NOT HAVE A VALID MB HEALTH NUMBER will be required to pre-pay for services at our clinic - $130 per visit.

Newborns do not initially have a MB Health number. Service is provided to these patients with the assumption that caregivers have promptly applied for MB Health coverage. If you do not have a health number for your newborn by 6 weeks of age, you will be asked to prepay for all future visits and will be billed for previous visits - $130 per visit.

SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS

If your coverage becomes active, we will submit all applicable payments to MB Health. Once these billings are paid out, we will reimburse you for the direct payments made to the clinic. Please note, services provided more than 6 months prior or refused by MB Health are not refundable.
